The WISHIN Direct+ Referrals application allows providers to proactively manage the referral process.  Providers can send and receive referrals, attach files, securely collaborate with other providers electronically, and automatically receive updates on the patient and the referral when they happen.  The application also provides tracking information for the entire referral process, allowing providers to accept or deny referrals and informing them about whether a referral was accepted or denied – providing ‘closed-loop’ referrals management.

While helping providers manage the referral process itself is valuable, managing the information that is contained within the referral is equally important.  WISHIN Direct+ Referrals helps eliminate missing, incomplete, and illegible information by allowing providers receiving referrals to customize the information they request from referring providers.  This minimizes the administrative burden on a provider’s staff (no more calling or faxing requests for additional information on the patient), but more importantly, it helps to ensure providers are getting the information they need about their patients in order to provide them with the best care.

  • Referral Management:  Displays all of your practices referrals at a glance, showing where the referral is in the workflow process: Requested, Accepted, Scheduled or Complete.  It also shows recent updates to the referral and notes any changes to existing referrals.
  • Customized Inbound Referral Preferences:  Providers can define the information they need to have included for inbound referrals - including questions that they need to have answered in order to provide the best care.  Providers can also include requests for insurance information, continuity of care documents, and other documents that are needed to supplement the referral.  Informational documents such as directions to the practice or pre-test instructions can be displayed to the referring provider – ensuring the patient has the appropriate information for their appointment.
  • Secure Messaging:  Once a referral is accepted, both practices have the ability to securely send electronic messages back and forth.  These messages remain attached to the referral so that all communications for the referral are kept together.
  • Scheduling:  Referring providers can request an appointment to be scheduled for the patient and can view the status of the appointment within the referral.
